Miami, the most improved city on the 2018 Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report®

Allstate Unveils Annual Drivers Report and Enlists Youth to Help Make Roads Safer

WHAT: To shed a light on safe driving, Allstate recently released its annual Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report®, a tool that ranks the 200 largest U.S. cities to determine which have the safest drivers. This year’s report shows Miami as the most improved city. Miami’s overall ranking last year was 123rd and this year it’s 86th.

WHERE: The 2018 Best Drivers Report ranked Miami the 86th safest driving city in the country (a huge improvement from last year!). The average driver in Miami gets into a collision every 8.5 years.

WHY: Keeping America’s roads safe is a cause especially important to young people. Whether as passengers or drivers, auto collisions are the No. 1 killer of every single age from 16 to 23, as well as age 10, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. And with more than 40,000 roadway deaths in 2017, according to the National Safety Council, leveraging our current backseat passengers – the future of America’s drivers – to encourage their parents and role models to stay safe behind the wheel is more important than ever.

HOW: The Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report uses company claims data to analyze collision frequency in America’s 200 largest cities and reveal which ones have the safest drivers. The report also leverages Drivewise®, one of Allstate’s innovative telematics programs, to analyze the correlation between collisions and hard-braking events. Drivers in cities with fewer hard-braking eventstend to have fewer auto property damage claims.
